Sigma (a french IT company) joins TechDebt as a contributor
Comments OffPosted in Contributors, TechDebt NewsJun 27, 2012
Sigma, a French IT company specialized in software development, consulting, integration and outsourcing- contributes to TechDebt.org.
As a contributor, Sigma powers the TechDebt benchmarks repository with code quality metrics based on a selection of pilot development projects. Thus the IT company actively collaborates with Tocea and TechDebt.org, in order to make accessible for free an open data repository which aims at being the most representative, exhaustive and accurate benchmark on technical debt and software quality.
Beyond this contribution to TechDebt.org, Sigma’s developers will use Scertify™ Refactoring Assessment for their projects. This free and open source plugin is designed to provide development teams with clear insights on quality concerns, enabling them to:
- Improve the settings/quality profiles of their Software Quality Measurement tools (ie: Sonar, PMD, Checkstyle…)
- Smartly manage their daily tasks of the code quality remediation
- Benchmark the quality of their code and compare it with similar projects
- Assess the opportunity (and the associated cost/saving) of an application code refactoring
How to contribute ?
TechDebt is a collaborative project. You can contribute by downloading the open source tool Scertify Refactoring Assessment to power TechDebt anonymously with your own project metrics. For public contributions, please contact us at contribute@techdebt.org.
How it works ?
TechDebt is fed by real projects from all around the world, through a Sonar plugin called Scertify Refactoring Assessment. Each time a project is analyzed with Sonar/Scertify, the metrics’ results are anonymized (made anonymous) locally, then sent to the TechDebt database for benchmarks. Scertify Refactoring Assessment is under LGPLv3.
